Lakas Filipino Martial Arts Podcast Episode 8: Guro Victor Gendrano – The Matrix

I first met Guro Victor Gendrano at the former Inosanto Academy location on Manchester Avenue, and have come to know and respect him not only as a senior but as a good friend. Whether it was seeing him in classes at the Academy, presenting with him at gatherings in Duarte or watching him record, document and even take hits on the field at Sama Sama, it continues to be my privilege to learn from him, partner with him and watch his Filipino Martial Heritage group expand and travel worldwide. Guro Victor may be one of the longest resident staff instructors at the Inosanto Academy in Los Angeles, still teaching his Friday night class. Through the many decades he remains a loyal student of Guro Inosanto, a respected teacher and avid practitioner of our Filipino Martial Arts.

Every summer Guro Victor organizes and takes groups of students to study and train in the Filipino Martial Arts, directly in Cebu City and throughout the Philippines. His camps have given students invaluable exposure to some of the great Masters and instructors, as well as a taste for the flavor of the culture that permeates both the technical composition of our arts as well as the mental and emotional attitude of our expression. Grandmasters know him, students adore him, the ladies love him and it is my privilege to call him friend.
