Plan and Practice

The tragic events of the day remind us that violence in any form may rear it’s head no matter where and when we find ourselves.  Lakas Filipino Martial Arts sends it’s deepest and most sincere condolences to the families of those that died today.

I’m sure many of you have already imagined what you would have done had you been there.  No matter your background or level of skill, it is important to have some kind of plan in that kind of event.  What would you do?  Would you run, or hide or try to intervene?  Would you run with your wife or husband, would you shield and cover your child?  What would be, and what is your plan?

Have you practiced it?

Have you practiced running?  Have you thought about how and where?  Do you practice hiding?  Do you know how fast you can run and dive under a bed?  Can you even fit under your bed?  Have you ever trained with your children?

Come up with a plan.  Work on it.  And then practice it.  Train it.  The last thing you want to do is try and think of a plan and do it for the first time on a day like today.
