He once jumped up and kicked the ceiling of the school. His sister told me that she watched him abaniko so fast he snapped the stick. He was a student of a teenage Master Chris Sayoc, and learned how to top rock from Felix Cortes. He home schooled all six of his kids, and literally built his own house.
Grandmaster Carlos Patalinghug, Jr. is the owner and Chief Instructor at Kick Connection, a 9th degree Black Sash in Doces Pares under both Grandmaster Cacoy Canete and SGM Diony Canete, and a VI Dan in Taekwon-Do with the International Taekwon-Do Federation. But to us he was always “Mr. Carlos”, or “Mr. C”. He is more than a martial arts teacher. He is a mentor, a friend, a loving father and devoted husband.
